Founded in 2025 at the University of California, Berkeley by UC Berkeley Haas School of BusinessTransfers, Roots Consulting is UC Berkeley's premier pro-bono advisory association for small businesses and social impact, committed to helping local businesses grow sustainably, innovate boldly, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We believe that the strongest businesses are deeply rooted in their communities. That belief drives everything we do. By combining entrepreneurial thinking with technology-driven strategies, our consultants work hands-on with small and local businesses to solve real problems—whether that means refining operations, strengthening brand identity, expanding digital presence, or exploring new growth opportunities.

Roots Consulting is proud to have partnered with community businesses such as El Tiny Cafe, Thayir Sadam, and Slunks, delivering tailored, actionable solutions designed to create lasting impact rather than one-size-fits-all recommendations. Each engagement is a collaboration: we listen first, learn deeply, and build strategies that align with each business’s unique vision and values.

Our team is made up of passionate UC Berkeley students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, united by a shared interest in consulting, entrepreneurship, and social impact. Through real-world projects, our members gain practical experience while giving back to the local economy that surrounds our campus.
